Homemade Applesauce with cinnamon

Fall wouldn't be Fall without making the maximum number of apple recipes manageable. This easy peasy applesauce recipe is a must-make this season.

How To Enjoy Applesauce: Naked, straight outta the jar! Added to Greek yogurt and granola Added to Applesauce cake! Substitute for oil in brownies

The part that takes the longest is peeling, coring and slicing the apples. Otherwise this is a quick recipe!

Add the apples to a large pot and throw in the water (you could use apple cider if you've got it too!) lemon juice, sugar and cinnamon, giving it a good stir.

Cook the apples, stirring occasionally until soft, about 25 min.

Mash the apples with a potato masher for chunkier applesauce or you can puree in the blender for a smoother applesauce.

These apples get a good hit of cinnamon flavor and rich brown sugar. Want more flavor? Add more or less cinnamon, add in allspice, ginger, nutmeg, or other Fall spice to jazz it up.
