brioche buns

HOW TO STORE

Brioche bread is a French style of bread. It's made from an enriched dough so in addition to a yeast mixture and flour, brioche is made with a high quantity of eggs, milk, and butter.

Brioche is prepared much like regular bread and you can use a dough hook on your Kitchenaid Mixer to knead it.

Making your own homemade brioche buns is super satisfying and delicious!

Going to eat your buns in a couple days? These buns are best contained in an airtight container for up to 5 days at room temperature.

You might be surprised to learn that it isn't recommended to refrigerate your brioche buns, however. This can cause them to go stale faster or alter the taste.

You can freeze your brioche buns to save for later. Up to 3 months! Best to keep them away from the door of the freezer so the temperature doesn't fluctuate.

Be sure that the buns have entirely cooled to room temperature before preparing them for freezing

Wrap your brioche buns tightly to prevent freezer burn. To do this, you can use tin foil, plastic wrap or parchment paper. If you expect to use your buns at different times, it is best if you wrap them individually to avoid defrosting and refreezing.

Place your wrapped brioche buns into a freezer-safe bag or airtight container. Be sure that all of the excess air is removed from the plastic bag or freezer-safe container for best results

Enjoy!
