Life can be crazy, but baking doesn’t have to be! This is your go-to spot for easy, approachable, and crazy-good recipes so you can be the kickass baker I know you are at home, too!
Hey there! Thank you so much for visiting Kickass Baker! I’m Kim, the working mom and home baker behind this blog. I know how crazy life can be. Too often, we can beat ourselves up and give up things we enjoy because we think we aren’t great at them. But you are kicking ass everyday and I’m here to help you bake up some crazy-good recipes and embrace your Kickass Baker!
I’m excited to show you how!
As someone with lots of responsibilities at work and at home, I totally get it. I wouldn’t trade my life or my family for the world, but it would sure be nice to have a little downtime every now and then!
I’m an active seeker of a balanced life, which means I try to find the sweet spot between providing for others and caring for myself. One way for me to do both is by spending time in the kitchen. There, I get to indulge my artistic side while creating foods I can share with my family. It’s a win-win!
Over the years I’ve learned that producing outstanding results doesn’t have to be stressful, complicated or time-consuming. You don’t need to use specialty ingredients that cost a fortune. And you certainly don’t have to be a pro chef to wow your family and friends.
My goal is to provide you with the tools you need to be successful and happy in the kitchen.
At Kickass Baker I provide hundreds of tested recipes for premium bakery-style treats. If you’re looking for show-stopping-yet-simple breads, cakes, cookies or donuts, you’ve come to the right place.
As the daughter of a Greek mother and the wife of a Vietnamese husband, I’m also inspired to experiment with and share cultural recipes that honor our family’s heritage. Kourabiedes, Banh Mi and Vietnamese Swiss Roll Cakes are just a few of the recent recipes inspired by these cultures, fresh out of my oven.

A little more about me
Born and raised in central New Jersey, I’ve lived here all my life. My husband and I met in high school and we live close to our hometown with our daughters.
The seeds for Kickass Baker were planted in my teen years when my sisters and I got hooked on those ubiquitous boxed mixes. Luckily my skills improved just out of college when my twin sister and I baked a lot together. . In fact, my Kickass Brownies became a regular request amongst family and friends at that time - fast forward many years and this recipe became the inspiration for kickassbaker.com!
These days I’m a regular mom with a love for all things sweet. I am also on a seemingly endless quest for balance in my life. I want it all! A successful career, a happy and healthy family, f money in the bank, and lots of time to do the things I love, like baking.
Over the years I’ve had plenty of challenges, some kitchen fails and luckily, lots of happy successes. Food and baking are comforting and fun ways to bring together the people I love.
I hope you'll enjoy my recipes and find new ways to achieve the balance you seek.
